What’s amazing is that I have an antique basket that’s a family heirloom that has an almost identical weave. My grandmother had told me that it came into her family by American Indians long ago. Its really derelict but still intact.
The thing is, my family is from an area that was mainly Shawnee, Lenape and a bit of Seneca Iroquois. I don’t know where the basket actually came from. Its so tightly and skillfully woven too.
