You know sometimes I get questions asking about why I don’t change my name to a Muslim one.
Its weird because there are many Muslim women with my name - even this Franco-Anglicized version. Its definitely not Arabic, but being Arabic is not a requisite and I already have another Arabic name - my middle name.
Even if my name was Sally or Tabatha, I personally wouldn’t choose to change it anyway. I think that whenever a person changes their name its based on a decision of what feels right for them, not what people feel should be standard and recognizable to them. I respect people who change their names, and I respect people who don’t too.
